Originally from Liguria, pesto as we know it today was first made in mid 1800’s. Traditional Pesto Genovese is made using basil, garlic, pine nuts, extra-virgin olive oil, Parmiggiano Reggiano, Pecorino Sardo and salt.

Pesto is widely used to add colour and flavour to dishes of all sorts, from fish to mozzarella.
